Birmingham wanted to commission artists who directly represent the very significant South Asian community which comprised mainly of Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi diasporas who have made Birmingham their home. I was short-listed as 1 of the final artists to submit a piece of creative work for the Paint Spectrum project for the Commonwealth Games, 2022.

The Colour of Music: A chronicle of India’s vivid and vibrant world of art and music through the eyes of a traveller. I had taken distinctive Indian art/craft forms like Mughal miniature paintings, Pichwai and block print to weave a seamless lyrical landscape. Each art form is contemporarised by using vivid colours, modern motifs and clean lines.
